Mr. SpoiltVictorianChild to be wed!
[Simon SpoiltVictorianChild is in love and getting married!](http://www.spoiltvictorianchild.co.uk/2007/03/blogger-loves-blogger-shock.html) That’s so made my weekend, congratulations to you both! I’m looking forward to the after-party (hopefully it’s on the Island) and reckon a live webcast would be most fitting!
Biofoam surfboard blanks
[Eco surfboard development](http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/03/biofoam_surfboard_blanks_are_made_with_plants_.php) in association with [the Eden Project](http://www.edenproject.com/). Some rather toxic stuff goes into making a surfboard so any improvements to the materials & manufacture is most definitely a good thing.
King Tubby’s Bass Speaker
A contender for eBay music item of the year: [King Tubby's bass speaker](http://musicthing.blogspot.com/2007/03/ebay-of-year-king-tubbys-bass-speaker.html) (cabinet).

Remote exploit for OpenBSD
Core Security found a [remotely exploitable buffer overflow in the OpenBSD kernel](http://it.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/03/15/0045207). OpenBSD is widely regarded as the most secure OS out there so this is big news, and is only the second published remote exploit in a default OpenBSD install for over ten years.

Computer mag in “good design” shocker!
Creative Review point out the recent [redesign of German magazine PC Professionell](http://www.creativereview.co.uk/crblog/computer-mag-in-good-design-shock/) by [Spiekermann Partners](http://www.spiekermannpartners.com/). (The name may seem familiar because of famous typographer [Erik Spiekermann](http://www.spiekermann.com/).) It looks fantastic, eschewing the usual gaudy stock art-laden cover for a gorgeous type-driven approach. Here’s hoping it lasts!
Google keeps your data accessible
[Matt Cutts explains how Google keeps your data accessible](http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/not-trapping-users-data-good/) and why this is a good thing. I fully agree and wish Microsoft would do the same with Hotmail, I know countless people who would love to switch but are trapped in by their data.
Interesting article on Apple’s FairPlay DRM
[Interesting article on Apple's FairPlay DRM](http://www.roughlydrafted.com/RD/RDM.Tech.Q1.07/2A351C60-A4E5-4764-A083-FF8610E66A46.html), including commentary pointing out that Apple benefits less from DRM than most think.
Shake your money maker
[Fascinating interview on banknote design](http://www.e-cr.co.uk/crblog/the-money-maker/) with Ootje Oxenaar, a Dutch graphic designer. I love the way he managed to sneak some personal touches into the notes, such as a fingerprint and his name.
